چکیده

Cardiac sarcoidosis is an uncommon cause of cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy. We describe a case of cardiac sarcoidosis presenting as an accelerated junctional rhythm and complete atrioventricular (AV) block, without severe left ventricular (LV) dysfunction or pulmonary symptoms. Computer tomography (CT) of the chest and mediastinal lymph node biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. Dual-chamber implantable cardioverter-defibrillator was implanted due to reported risk of sudden cardiac death due to ventricular tachyarrhythmia despite negative programmed ventricular stimula-

Junctional rhythm quantity and duration during slow pathway radiofrequency ablation in patients with atrioventricular nodal re-entry supraventricular tachycardia.

AIM The occurrence of accelerated junctional rhythm during radiofrequency energy delivery at the region of the slow pathway is a well-recognized marker of successful treatment of atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT). Our aim was to evaluate if the quantity and duration of accelerated junctional rhythm during radiofrequency ablation of the slow pathway is correlated with residual ...

Concealed Sinus Node Dysfunction and Paradoxical Effect of Atropine during Arrhythmia Diagnostic Pharmacological Testing

A 78-year-old male patient presented with repetitive fainting episodes. His electrocardiogram showed sinus rhythm with persistent ventricular bigeminy. Concealed sinus node dysfunction (SND) with consecutive bradycardia-induced ventricular hyperexcitability was suspected. Pharmacological testing with atropine resulted in accelerated junctional rhythm along with nearly total disappearance of the...

Spontaneous Resolution of Junctional Rhythm in a Child with Dengue Fever

Atypical manifestations of dengue fever are rising but they may be under reported. In dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), cardiac rhythm abnormalities observed were ventricular arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation and atrioventricular block. Here we report an 11 year old boy who presented with dengue fever and developed bradycardia and hypotension. His electrocardiogram (ECG), during the bradycardia, sh...

Complete diagnostic work-up and prognosis prediction for cardiac sarcoidosis with atrioventricular block: Importance of cardiac magnetic resonance image (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET)

A 56-year old woman complained of chest discomfort and dyspnea on exertion for one month. She had been diagnosed as mediastinal lymph node sarcoidosis through endobronchial ultrasonography guided transbronchial lymph node aspiration. Electrocardiogram at presentation demonstrated sequential first and second degree 2:1 atrioventricular block. Further imaging study with gadolinium enhanced cardia...

Electrocardiografic Changes in Seizure Disorder

Background: Seizure disorders are common in infants and children. Cardiac dysrhythmias may manifest clinically as seizure disorders which, if missed, may cause serious consequences. Objective: To investigate the electrocardiogram, conduction and rhythm disturbances in a group of patients in pediatric age group clinically presenting as various types of seizures Methods: We studied electrocardiog...
